The travels of John Franklin,1819 - 1822Everyone knows about Sir John Franklin's ill-fated attempt to find and sail around the North West Passage, but almost nobody knows about his earlier travels. In 1819 to 1822 he travelled from Hudson Bay to the Arctic Ocean, by-passing the ice bound section of the North West Passage by travelling across the north of Canada along rivers, mostly in canoe. There were some horrific incidents. |
